What are your hours?
Our hours are as follows:
- Monday through Thursday: 9am – 6pm
- Friday: 9am – 5pm
- Saturday & Sunday: 9am – 11:30am
We are closed after 11:30 am on weekends for private parties, but will offer extended play hours if no parties are booked. Please call or visit our website for extended weekend hours and holiday hours! If we do not answer our phone, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
What is the appropriate age range for Recess?
Recess is a playspace for children ages 6 and under. For the safety of our little ones, we reserve the right to refuse entry to children over 6 years old, children who are too big for our equipment and children who do not treat our equipment nicely!
Do I have to sign a waiver to play at Recess?
For insurance purposes, every parent/guardian of a child participating in open play, a class or event at Recess must sign a waiver. There are no exceptions. Recess reserves the right to refuse entry if a parent or guardian does not sign our waiver. Birthday Party hosts are responsible for having their guests sign the waiver as well.
Do kids need to wear socks to play?
We recommend that kids wear socks in our playspace, but it is not required. We do require that adults wear socks for safety and hygienic purposes. We have socks available for purchase in case you forget!
Can I visit Recess just for the day?
Yes, we offer a variety of options for play, including drop-in passes for a single visit, pass packs for multiple visits and memberships which allow unlimited play during the term of membership, along with other member benefits!
What does a daily drop-in include?
A daily drop-in at Recess includes unlimited play, all day long. You may even leave and return on the same day (so long as we are not overcrowded!).
Can I host a birthday party or other event during open play hours?
No, Recess does not permit private parties or gatherings during open play hours. Guests may not bring food or cake for a group during open play hours. (Snacks and lunch for single children and small groups attending Recess are permissible.) All birthday parties at Recess include exclusive use of the space. Does Recess have food or a place to eat?
Recess has a limited seating and café tables in its reception area. Guests are welcome to bring snacks or lunch to Recess. There are many places nearby to grab a coffee or snack!
What kind of events can I hold at Recess?
Recess is happy to host your birthday party, movie night or other event! Please contact us or visit our website for more details!
Does a parent/caregiver need to be with my child at all times?
Yes, parents and caregivers must watch their child(ren) at all times. We are not a drop-off playspace or day care and all adults are responsible for the well-being and behavior of the child(ren) under their care. Parents and caregivers should be within arm’s reach of their children at all times.
Does Recess have stroller parking?
Recess has a dedicated area for stroller parking, but it can get very crowded! Please bring a collapsible stroller if possible. Recess assumes no responsibility for lost, damaged or stolen personal belongings, including strollers.
Is Recess a nut-free facility?
Recess is generally a nut-free facility, but we cannot guarantee that our guests bring only nut-free products into our space.
What is your sick child policy?
Please be considerate and do not bring any child(ren) to Recess when they are ill or have a communicable medical condition. We reserve the right to restrict admission and/or send the child home, when, in our opinion, a child is ill or risks the health or well-being of other children. We want to keep Recess a healthy and safe environment for all kids to play!
What is your refund policy?
Recess does not provide refunds for memberships or pass packs.
Classes can be partially refunded:
Cancel 5+ weeks before class starts = 80% refund
4+ weeks = 60%
3+ weeks = 40%
2+ weeks = 30%
1+ week = 20%
Less than one week in advance = no refund
